21st YMCA World Council, Toronto, Canada – Wednesday 22 July 2026

Habitat for Humanity International and World YMCA signed a Memorandum of Agreement today at the 21st YMCA World Council in Toronto, marking an exciting step forward in our growing global partnership.

Together, we share a belief that resilient communities are built when people have both secure shelter and opportunities to lead, participate and thrive.

Building on local collaborations already underway in the United States, Kenya, Mexico, Romania and Zambia, the agreement will help advance cooperation around housing, climate and disaster resilience, community cohesion and youth leadership.

“Together, we look forward to supporting youth-led, community-driven solutions around the world,” said Habitat for Humanity CEO Jonathan Reckford via video message, as World YMCA Secretary-General Carlos Sanvee and Habitat for Humanity Senior Vice President for Global Program Impact Jacqueline Innocent signed the document today.
