Please contact worldcouncil@ymca.int to make this request.

Subsidies

Following its Travel Subsidy Policy, World YMCA offers travel subsidies for two representatives for a National Movement which meets the eligibility criteria. There will also be youth subsidies available through the Change Agent programme.

About your host city and country

  • Accommodations

Your YMCA World Council registration includes 6 nights of accommodation, from Sunday 19 July to Friday 24 July, at one of two premier downtown hotels — the Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel or the Marriott Downtown at CF Toronto Eaton Centre.

Just 600 metres apart, both venues offer comfort and convenience in the heart of the city. The Sheraton Centre will host the majority of World Council events.

To ensure every delegate enjoys equal access, shared experiences, and a strong sense of community, all accommodations are arranged within these event hotels.

It’s more than a stay — it’s where connection and inspiration begin.

  • Toronto

The biggest city in Canada, Toronto is a dynamic, multicultural city known for its vibrant neighbourhoods, global cuisine, arts, and major events. Beneath its modern energy lies a rich history, deeply rooted in the traditions and stewardship of Indigenous Peoples.

Toronto is on the traditional territory of many nations, including the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee, and the Wendat people. Today, it is still home to many diverse First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples.

Toronto is covered by Treaty 13 with the Mississaugas of the Credit, and is part of the Dish With One Spoon Wampum Belt Covenant, an agreement between Indigenous nations to peaceably share and care for the resources around the Great Lakes.

  • Canada

Canada is a vast and diverse country known for its welcoming spirit, natural beauty, and multiculturalism. With over 38 million people across ten provinces and three territories, it spans six time zones and is the second-largest country in the world by land area.

This land has been home to Indigenous Peoples for thousands of years—with rich cultures, languages, and traditions that continue to shape Canada today. Now, it continues to grow through its values of democracy, multiculturalism, and an ongoing commitment to truth and reconciliation.

From the rugged coastlines of the Atlantic to the wide-open prairies, from the towering Rockies to the dancing Northern Lights, and from vibrant cities like Toronto to iconic natural wonders like Niagara Falls, Canada’s landscape is as beautiful and diverse as its people.
